Anthelios Mineral Zinc Oxide Sunscreen SPF 50 Product Reviews

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Awful I do not recommend this at all if you're dark skin. I am light skin black woman and I actually dreaded wearing this because of how terrible of a white cast it would leave. Doesn't matter if you shake it well, moisturize before hand. It's not formulated for folks with melanin.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product I purchased this about a month ago. I noticed that it is better when i mix it with my La Roche Posay Moisturizer, it blends better and dries quicker (5-7 minutes) and my face stays matte all day. This way works for me so im very happy

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent sunscreen This sunscreen was recommended by my dermatologist. I have been treated for sun damage on my face and have been using this product for the last several years. Love the matte finish and lightweight feel.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great texture I've been using the tinted version for awhile, and decided to give this non-tinted version a try. It has the same wonderful silky texture, but I have to admit that I'm not as taken with this version as the tinted. It does give the skin a slight, white sheen. Not enough to make me want to return it, but I'd stick to the tinted version if I'm working. I like how light the product is. It goes on the skin easily and absorbs fast. I also like that this contains zinc. I feel that there is more protection with zinc included. As for the reviews that claims that the texture is gritty or rough, I noticed that their products are bought at drug stores. Perhaps those products have expired? I've never had any issue with texture nor application, and I always buy from the website. Just a thought.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great on-the-go facial sunscreen This is a good purse-friendly, mineral (won't sting your eyes) sunscreen. Having it handy means that it's easy to reapply during the day, which is essential for spf protection. Its size is also great for sending in kids' backpacks and sport bags as well, for throughout-the-day face application. Its minimal cast dissipates well in a few minutes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is the only face sunscreen I can use. I'm a genetic redhead with rosacea, and a tendency towards dermatitis. My skin reacts to chemical sunscreens and cyclopentasiloxane. I've tried well over thirty European, American, Canadian and Asian mineral sunscreens, including some that include the newer filters. This is the only sunscreen one that I can use daily without breakouts and irritation. I hope La Roche Posay continues to make this, and I pray they never change the formulation.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Comfortable but with Caveats I like this sunscreen because it's an elegant formulation that dries down comfortably. However, I sometimes doubt the UVA protection it offers, and this uncertainty has turned me away. It's also very expensive - for $33 this should come in at least a 3 ounce size, especially when considering sunscreen needs to be applied liberally in order to achieve the protection labeled on the bottle. For those with sensitive skin looking for an all-mineral sunscreen, I do think they will like this one because it doesn't sting and the white cast isn't horrible either. I have Asian skin that is pale, however, and don't think this would work for those with brown or darker skin tones.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from White Glow I purchased this sunscreen following a diagnosis of melanoma and the recommendation to use zinc oxide from my dermatologist. The product description states it does not make your face white. I true zinc oxide fashion, this product makes you glow as white as a ghost. Product is a bit greasy but goes on smoothly. Just be prepared to cover up with make-up following application...
