For acne treatment, 0.5% to 2% salicylic acid concentrations are typically recommended. The La Roche-Posay Effaclar Clarifying Solution Acne Toner contains 0.5% salicylic acid to help clear and refine the appearance of pores. The La Roche-Posay Effaclar Salicylic Acid Acne Treatment Serum contains 1.5% salicylic acid to clear blemishes and help prevent new breakouts, while visibly reducing pores, fine line and post-acne marks.

Salicylic acid exfoliates the skin and unclogs pores. It can help clear acne by removing dead skin cells and excess oil.

Salicylic acid can be used daily, but as with any active ingredient, it's best to start with less frequent application and gradually increase. Follow product instructions or consult a dermatologist.

Salicylic acid can cause some dryness, especially when first starting treatment. However, this effect is usually temporary and can be managed by moisturizing regularly. Start with less frequent application and gradually increase as your skin adjusts. If excessive dryness occurs, reduce usage or consult a dermatologist.
