KEY INGREDIENTS:

Adapalene Gel 0.1% (Topical Retinoid): A topical retinoid medication used in Effaclar Adapalene for the treatment of acne. A synthetic molecule that mimics vitamin A, it works by regulating skin cell turnover to help remove and prevent dead skin from clogging pores. An ideal choice for those concerned with whiteheads and blackheads.

INACTIVE INGREDIENTS

CARBOMER HOMOPOLYMER • EDETATE DISODIUM • METHYLPARABEN • POLOXAMER 182 • PROPYLENE GYLCOL • PURIFIED WATER • SODIUM HYDROXIDE

Step 1: To open the product, remove the cap and insert the opposite side of the cap into the foil. Push down on the cap and twist until the foil is punctured.

Step 2: After using a gentle cleanser, apply a pea sized amount all over the face once daily in the evening.

Step 3: Apply a moisturizer after use.

Step 4: Use with SPF daily

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Has great potential, but ruined my skin barrier While amazing if used properly, I totally destroyed my skin barrier because I didn’t start off using the product slowly. I enjoyed the results but after a week everything from gentle moisturizer to warm water would burn my face. I think if you start using the product every other day and slowly increase over time then your skin should adjust. If you find your skin burning, the only thing soothing it is aquaphor and the triple moisturizing cream from La roche. Just be cautious and listen to your skin before you overdo it with a retinol.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Give it a try Very efficient. My daughter mixed it with moisturizer. The first weeks, some parts of the skin reacted (very dry, reddish). But it disappeared and it was never at the same space. I guess the skin had to adjust to the adapalene. I am glad she persisted. The result is absolutely awesome. She tried another brand but came back to La Roche Posay, the only cream she is comfortable with.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from When used right, an absolute gem I've been using this for about 2-3 years now. With starting slowly and gradually increasing use, I've hadno side effects besides a ~little~ dryness that's easily fixed with a good moisturizer. I used to have regular breakouts, but this cleared it up so quickly. The only occasional breakout I get now are extremely mild and all go away much quicker than before. My skin's texture is also far improved. So many of my acne scars have lightened or disappeared. All this to say, if you are careful with using this (ie using a pea size for your entire face, diligent sunscreen, good moisturizer, and starting slow with use and gradually increasing to your comfort), it's absolutely worth a purchase

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Too drying; not worth it I tried this product based on recommendations from my dermatologist (who said to try it for at least 1 month as it will likely cause skin drying). I did give it a try for a little over a month, but this product is awful! My skin peels like crazy for 1-2 days after using it, despite using moisturizer in the AM and PM. My acne is actually worse than when I started as well with no improvements. I would love to return this product and get a refund, but unfortunately per the return policy I am unable to return it after 30 days, which is interesting since the recommendation is to give this product a try for at least 1 month... Overall, I do not recommend trying this product!
