Encouraging Dermatological Research:
The La Roche-Posay Foundation
Committed to working alongside dermatologists, La Roche-Posay created its namesake foundation in 1995 to encourage dermatological research in the fields of clinical medicine, biology and pharmacology.
The La Roche-Posay Foundation encourages fundamental and clinical dermatology research work in the field of photoprotection, atopy and skin intolerance. These grants are awarded in four continents: a European scientific committee, made up of several dermatology professors, evaluates all of the work submitted and awards prizes to the most deserving.
Every year it awards 4 research prizes and 5 publication prizes.
Since its creation, the la Roche-Posay Foundation has rewarded over 90 researchers.
Dermatologist From The Heart
A unique program that underscores the La Roche-Posay altruistic approach to skincare, "Dermatologist from the Heart" aims to support initiatives designed to enhance the quality of life for patients by making invaluable skills, knowledge and expertise of dermatologists available to the broader public.
Every year, the "Dermatologist from the Heart" initiative awards a grant to the most compassionate project spearheaded by dermatologists that seek to enhance patients' quality of life.
Partnering With Dermatologists To Raise Skin Cancer Awareness
According to the American Academy of Dermatology, 1 American in 5 will get skin cancer in the course of their lifetime. When detected in time, over 90% of skin cancers are curable. And yet, the total number of skin cancer in the US is on the increase.
With its public service SOS Save Our Skin, La Roche-Posay is committed to spread the word about sun safety. In partnership with dermatologists we not only organized events where we offer free skin checks, but we also raise awareness about the dangers of UV exposure and its link to skin cancer. Since 2010, over 8,000 free skin cancer screenings have been performed by over 200 volunteer dermatologists.
